For 75 years now, the La Habra Heights Improvement Association has been a community organization dedicated to the residents of La Habra Heights. The LHHIA is a group of volunteers interested in creating a community atmosphere in La Habra Heights by sponsoring events that bring residents together, said Pam McVicar, secretary of the LHHIA.

Residents from Park Regency Care Center received a “Day of Beauty” on Wednesday, after 18 Fullerton College cosmetology students came to provide pampering services. Students gave haircuts, blow dries, and manicures to around18 Park Regency residents, in an effort to make them feel pretty and make them feel better around the holiday season, said Delores Fuentes, Park Regency’s Activity’s Director.

For Max Igoe, hosting a lemonade stand at five years old meant more than making money for himself, but instead, to raise money towards breast cancer research. Now 15 years old, Max continues this goal by hosting his 10th anniversary lemonade stand on October 12 and 13 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on the southeast corner of Imperial Highway and Brass Lantern Street in La Habra.

The Orange County Transportation Authority held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday to reveal a renovated OCTA bus that has been on display in The Children’s Museum at La Habra for the past 20 years. The ceremony provided visitors a first look at the renovated “Buster the Bus,” complete with new upholstered benches, driver’s seat, interior paint, and a fixed electronic head sign.

There can only be one band that dares to bear song titles such as “Left for Dead,” “Hate Song,” and “Skeletons,” and they are none other than the Snakebit Drifters . The band’s title may not seem like the name of a typical Americana band that adds elements of Rock and Punk to the mix, yet the band possesses much more than a garage band mentality, and their name easily represents them.
